TUASON RACING SCHOOL - PTCC
Tuason Racing School, powered by Ford Philippines, clinched the third place at the recently held Philippine Touring Car Championship with the help of Francisco Blanco after replacing ace race car driver Mike Tuason due to health complications.
Born in the country of Columbia, Pancho as he is better known, started getting hooked into motorsports as a kid. A licensed mechanical engineer, he started training together with the legendary F1 race car driver, Juan Pablo Montoya, under the same school. After honing his skills, he then moved to the Philippines as a technical consultant to the F3 racing team of Tuason Racing School and has been living here for almost seven years.
Undoubtedly, Pancho believes that racing is the safest mode of motorsport because “everything is in a controlled environment and everything is done properly. Especially if you are under a very organized and structured racing team like TRS, it will be a very high experience.”
When asked to impart advice for wannabe race car drivers, he comments “do it in the race track, not on the streets.” He adds that the experience of racing under the right team makes all the difference. He also attributes his success to God, a devout Christian; Pancho wants to make sure the message gets across that all his talent & achievements are because of Him. Very far from the stereotypical hotshot driver image.
Pancho reaches out to the public by participating in a weekly radio show with fellow car aficionado James Deakin on 107.5 every Wednesday night. He says that he wants to “share and inform the community about racing and everything car-related.”
